The
mission of the Unnamed Writers' Group is to help writers write (whether
published, prepublished or unpublished) and provide education, inspiration,
support and connections to writers and to the community.
It doesn't
get much simpler than that, but here are the strict and demanding
membership requirements:
- You have
to write.
- You have
to care about writing and writers.
- Oh, and
you have to pay your annual dues...

Please give us a HAND in relaying our new location information
to your friends, critique groups members and/or guests: HOLIDAY
INN EXPRESS is located at 55 Nugget Avenue in Sparks: accessible
from I- 80 & East McCarran Blvd. Take the elevator to the 9th floor
meeting room. We set-up at 9am and begin the meeting at 10am.
JUNE 13: "Change Your Message, Change Your Life."
Is fear holding you back? Fear of success or fear of failure? Do
you know what fear actually means? Does your motivation need an
update? Have you gotten a bit lax with your goals? Is the light
at the end of the tunnel aglow or just a flicker?? It's time to
kick yourself into gear with Meg Fitzgerald. Meg is a motivational
butt-kicker and student advisor of academics for UNR's Engineering
Department and has agreed to share her butt- kicking advice: "Change
Your Message, Change Your Life." No slacking - all of you should
be here to jumpstart your summer objectives. Jump-Start time: 10am
- Don't be late and remember we're on the 9th floor now.
JULY 11: CONQUERING & MASTERING YOUR PITCH, QUERY LETTER & SYNOPSIS
Hone your pitch, query letter and synopsis is just another message
you'll need in your writing career, so Prez Linda Enos will impart
her tried and true techniques and incredible wisdom on how to create
an irresistible pitch, query letter and synopsis. Be ready to get
every detail you will ever need to succeed in presenting your project
to an editor or an agent. Be prepared for hands-on deconstruction
and reconstruction of your own and each other's queries and synopses.

Known as the Two Grumpy Old Men, Cobb & Fenwick share their adventures
in creating "RENO NOW & THEN." Join us for a sassy slideshow,
discussion, and banter between old childhood friends who teamed
up to document and preserve Reno's history.
