The mission of the Unnamed Writers' Group is to help writers write (whether published, prepublished or unpublished) and provide education, inspiration, support and connections to writers and to the community.

It doesn't get much simpler than that, but here are the strict and demanding membership requirements:

  • You have to write.
  • You have to care about writing and writers.
  • Oh, and you have to pay your annual dues...

We set-up at 9:30am and begin the meeting at 10am at the Evelyn Mount Community Center - 1301 North Valley Road in Reno.

How to Impress (not Depress) Editors. Reno-based freelance editor and journalist, Doresa Banning, will teach you ways to capture the attention of editors and cultivate good relationships. 

11:30am workshop: The Future of Writing - Is there one?  Will writers survive?  Join Jeff Walden/UWG Advisor as he shares his visions: past, present and future.

The Writer's Essential Tackle Box~Author and Editor Lynn Price discusses her amazing step-by-step book and will present a 3-hour afternoon workshop.

Writing From the Heart - author Bob Reid.  How does a writer bring a story to life? How can you transform your novel, short story, memoir, review, or magazine article from a dry, lifeless piece of writing into something that's captivating and alive?  Bob discusses his search and presents some ideas on how you can do the same.

Going Away to Think: Reflections on Writing and Travel - Scott Slovic.  UNR Professor and frequent traveler to far-away corners, shares his writing experiences and how to promote his environmental literature.  His writing explores the questions and discoveries that occur when we go away from home.
